A wonderful pair of Russian mahogany chairs, period of Nicholas I, with striped upholstery. Sold by us about 15 years ago and now bought back. These chairs are still in Brisbane, not in the shop in Melbourne. However, as so much of our sales are now online, this seems to be no disadvantage. They will be in Melbourne by the end of April (according to present plans.) They are as splendid as this old image from "The World of Antiques and Art" photo from 1996.
